Maryland TESOL is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the improvement and advancement of teaching English to speakers of other languages. Maryland TESOL is an affiliate of TESOL, the international organization of professionals interested in teaching English to speakers of other languages.
OUR VISIONMaryland TESOL envisions a state in which English Learners (ELs) accomplish their dreams through the power of diversity and education. OUR MISSION Maryland TESOL provides learning and networking opportunities to advance the English language teaching profession and the success of English Learners (ELs). OUR GOALS Serve the Professional Community: Network, share knowledge and expertise, disseminate information, provide professional learning opportunities, keep Maryland educators abreast of advances in the field, recognize educators’ involvement and professional contributions, and romote scholarship Advocate: Advocate for ELs, professionals, the field, and support and inform policy and practice to increase equity in educational opportunities. Promote the Language Development of ELs in Maryland: Support best practices, strengthen instruction and research at all levels of English to speakers of other languages, provide leadership in TESOL and in professional concerns, and cooperate in appropriate ways with other groups having similar concerns. |
